one of those age old debates... *sigh*
Makan session with cousins, niece and aunt today..
Nim's Island was on tv so we watched while eating and aunt mentioned that Jodie Foster was lesbian ( something we were not aware of) .. and to that cousin said "Nothing wrong being a lesbian wat" and dad and mum instantly looked at her and mum said "It's VERY wrong".. and we kinda dropped the subject after that..
To me.. it's kind of half half i suppose.. i will not say that there is NOTHING wrong about being lesbian/gay but i won't say it is VERY VERY wrong.. i'm kind of neutral.. after all, i do have lesbian friends and i read a food blog written by a lesbian ..
from christianity's view..i guess it's supposed to be wrong.. (what with the story about the place full of gay people and it was burnt? can't remember the name of the place >< ) .. but then we're taught that God loves us all the same.. and then there are people who are the way they are because.. they just are.. like they're born that way, in other words, god's creation as well... so.. .....how ahh??
a friend once told me something like.. god hates the sin and not the sinner? something along those lines.. o.O
at the end of the day, i am always more confused and always feel kinda guilty.. guilty because it seems as though i'm questioning/doubting god .. which might translate to i'm not really a christian??? o.O
the thing with all these kinda debates is like.. if this is okay then what about everything else? (can't think of an example that is not TOO extreme at the moment.. hmm.. ohh! what about cross dressing? or or.. plastic surgery? hmm.. plastic surgery can be a whole new debate on its own -.- .. another day.. )
Having said all that.. i know i probably won't get an answer because everyone has their own point of view on the matter.. most of our generation probably wouldn't be too bothered by it while our parents' generation will be more firm with saying it's not right... :/ .. i'll just have to accept the fact that there's no absolute answer for this question..
