Reset the clock...
When Syn Joe said this was our last year to spend CNY with our family i didn't think too much about it coz after all.. it's not gonna be THE LAST time as in.. we're not about to die or something but it'll be the last time in a very long time IF we go overseas to study by this year or even early next year ..
Also, i'm still doubtful about whether or not i can even meet my offers (coz i don't know which offer i'm gonna accept yet and also exams :S ) and when we were talking about it.. it didn't seem like such a big deal to me.. but today i feel different..
Yesterday was spent with my closer family members and i feel like we're so much closer than before coz there was a period of time when i dunno.. we were all growing up.. each having our own priorities to the extent that i didn't feel so close to my cousins as i used to but now i'd say we have a pretty good cousin-hood :) ..
Today we started off with the almost-every-year tradition of roti canai for breakfast with homecooked curry chicken on the 2nd day of CNY .. then visited grandaunt, grandma and aunt at her new home.. and this year felt more fun than previous years..
After dinner we went over to aunt's place where we had a lot of fun too ;) .. i got the chance to play "pop pop" with niece and cousins and bro.. the way we used to play was "pop pop" war.. and it was a strategy game :) .. we'd hide here and there and we had home base and refill station... just like a real war game .. but now we're all so big and today we were down in numbers so we only played mini pop pop wars... mostly torturing my cousin bro by aiming at his ass coz he's the only one wearing jeans and we're all at a disadvantage pain-wise XD .. we also played with sparklers.. and a whole lot of memories started to flood my mind.. i felt much... younger XD
At the end of the day i guess CNY actually matters quite a lot to me... It's all about the family, food, friends and fun... only thing that bothers me are those CNY songs that i don't like -.- .. some CNY songs are actually quite nice... except when they are overplayed then it gets boring..the fireworks may be noisy and pollute the air a lot but it's all just for the festivities and nobody does it everyday so i'm fine with that.. quite nice to see the fireworks too sometimes..
I've got 2 more days of holiday so I'll have to spend them wisely.. but for those with the luxury of the whole week or the whole 15 days of CNY, enjoy it while it lasts :D
