ughh.. my popiah craze is definitely over... coz i had that tan kee popiah for lunch.. and now my tummy is protesting :S ... and the guy didn't make such a nice popiah today :( .. pif... should just stick to homemade ones...

No exams till tuesday.. but wednesday is the real killer... maths, econs paper 2 and chem paper 2 all crammed into one day... shittiness.... i was actually quite surprised with the chem practical the other day... 3 questions but i could still finish and have some time left to check.. hehe... hopefully it's correct lah... -.- ....

And the other day i was checking back on the unis i planned to apply to.. and previously 3 of them had the AAA requirement... and 2 unis usually ask for AAB ... and when i checked back another one of them are asking for AAA.... grrrrrrr.... chances of me getting in will be so tiny.. the only way will probably be that most parts of the world did terribly for A levels... or... not many people are applying there... hehe... but i guess i shouldn't count on that... too risky -.- ...

Now i'll really really have to make sure i at least get A for maths and econs, my only hopes... chem and physics... haih.. i think the best i can get is a B... and i'm saying this before even taking the exam ... will go study now.. :(

ohh... and i'm thinking of emailing Coffee Bean after exams... hehe... it's worth a shot to bring back the ice blended cappuccino.... hehehe....

long post all about popiah -.- ..

After TKS 12 yesterday dad asked if i wanted to go and eat at the coffee shop.. was reluctant at first but agreed to go anyways..

I mentioned my craving for popiah and i think he might have wanted some too so off we went to medan selera taman eng ann... we decided to tapau and go to the coffee shop so that we get good popiah and good drinks..instead of lousy popiah sold at coffee shop but good drinks...hehe

I was supposed to go down and get the popiahs... and i only saw one stall.. Tan Kee Poh Pia ...the guy sells Leng Ci Kang too... anyway.. dad remembered there was another stall owned by a lady but i said.."How can one place got 2 popiah stall?????????" and made the kinda face at him that he just said "ok ok ...go and buy"

I very very very very rarely eat outside popiah coz every experience of it has been bad.. we have popiah parties at home once in a while and nothing beats the popiah we make at home...or rather the popiah ingredients that mum prepares.. -.- .. we always compete with each other on who has the prettiest popiah wrapped :) ...

anyway.. back to the popiah yesterday... i was pleasantly surprised because that popiah was really not bad at all.. lots of people were buying from him which was a good sign.. just that the next time i have it i'll tell the guy not to put any "pork fat" (that's what we call it in chinese but i'm not really sure if it's the pork skin fried..)..

after going home and reporting to mum she said there in fact WAS another popiah lady... and they said they used to buy from her and she was quite good...

and now i must admit... popiah is one of my favourite food so please don't think of me as a monster (or pregnant -.- ) ... but i had another popiah craving today... and i wanted to try the lady's popiah... i thought i was out of luck when mum prepared the porridge before going out to work but she came back around 3+ and she was nice enough to offer to lemme buy my popiah.. ngiak ngiak ngiak...

I found the lady's stall which is at another end of the strip of hawker stalls.. her's is called "Madam Kuan's po piah".. There were significantly less people there than Tan Kee's stall... this time i told her not to chop it up so it wouldn't get too soggy.. and i ate it in the car..hehe..

Once again..if i eat there again i'd definitely ask for no pork fat...the difference between tan kee's pork fat and madam kuan's is probably tan kee's is more discrete..it doesn't taste so obvious and disgusting.. they have slightly different ingredients.. but i'd have to say tan kee's is more tasty.. coz he had fried shallots... but i don't remember tan kee having egg and "tau gua" whereas madam kuan has..

All in all... i'd probably eat from tan kee's the next time but..i can't say madam kuan was lousy either.. if i could sit there and eat i'd probably order one from each stall and make a better judgement.. -.- ...

One paper down... long way to go... -.- ...

After the exam on thursday i still had violin class.. so after class i was so tired.. i went back and slept all the way till dinner time... then bro said he was going to cousin sw's house so we tagged along...

For some time i felt like i haven't been so close to Rachel.. i was seeing her so much lesser than i used to and sometimes it made me feel kinda disconnected to her... maybe it's because i know how kids, no matter how much they love you, will forget that love if you don't "maintain" it... so i had a chance to play with her more at cousin's house that day... and that was when i realised she's growing up so fast...

we played with her stuffed animals.. she had Odie and i had the bear bear... then as we were playing i was listening to something my cousin was talking about... and i didn't pay full attention to Chel for a while.. then she said.. "Odie sad sad liao..." I asked her why with the bear bear.. and she replied "because bear bear didn't pay attention to Odie"

o.O ...at that moment i didn't know if i should be proud or scared... hahaha... coz i didn't expect her to be so "deep" ... she's only 3+ ... goes to show that kids nowadays are so much smarter -.- ...

Just Bake...

We noticed a new bakery open nearby our place so we decided to try it out... coz we need good and nearby sources of food.. Anyways... the first time i went with bro was after college i think a week ago... and we were starving.... we got our bread and went home.. to our surprise the bread was yummy... it was so soft and fluffy... it tasted good... and we decided that we'll definitely buy from them again.. i think we went there 3 times that week..haha...

After dinner just now we noticed that we're totally out of bread... not even a piece of gardenia.. so we went there again... as i walked in i noticed someone very familiar in the shop.. but i didn't think too much of it... then when i was picking my bread...i looked up and... hey... that looks a lot like Pn Wong Sew Bee... and she was looking and smiling at me too so..it must be her...she lost so much weight i almost couldn't recognise her... i don't think she knows my name though...haha... anyways... turns out SHE is the one who opened the bakery!!!! we chat a little and i bought my stuff and i went home...

then i told mum...

Me: So i can work there for holidays edy!! i know the boss!!
Mum: What for....
Me: They're hiring cake baker lehhhh....
Mum: *laugh sarcastically* you're not even qualified.. you think people wanna hire you meh.. maybe you can go and be cashier lahh...
Me: maybe can learn from them lehh...
Mum: *continue to laugh*

hmph... guess the only way is to start my own bakery next time :( ...

Photogrpahy+Videography workshop...

I saw a notice on the student portal about a phootography and videography workshop the other day and it was by Nikon professionals... I've always liked photography but i haven gone round to playing with a dSLR yet... but bro's picking it up and playing around with it so I told him about the workshop and we agreed to go..

After violin he picked me up and we hunted for parking.. we were kinda late already because of violin class... but the two of us being almost equally wimpy... when we got there we felt paiseh to interrupt the guy when we wanted to go in... hahaha.... then another guy came so we just went in after him -.- ...

The photography one was by Kelvin Chan ... he covered some basic stuff about dSLRs i guess.. most of it dad told us before.. about aperture and shutter speeds... but his photos were so cool... If he had more time i think he would've had a better chance of explaining further...

The videography talk was by 2 guys... both botak.. XD .. unfortunately i didn't really get their names but their website is www.v9kon.com ... it wasn't a talk about using handycams to record but using dSLRs to record video.. and it was really good as well.. the last video they showed was really WOW... so here's the link ;) ... http://www.amivitale.com/2009/08/mirages/ (you may not feel as WOWed as i felt coz the one i watched was not from the internet -.- )

After finals i'm definitely going to learn up how to use the coolpix and hopefully progress on to the big camera... :D

I've been at Taylor's for 10 months now... and being just next to INTI it's kinda surprising i don't bump into INTI people much..haha.. the only people i've ever bumped into were Ying Ying and Chay Ann.. -.- ... and Chay Ann always assumes i've forgotten him... -.-''' ...

Then yesterday as i was rushing to class i heard someone calling me and when i turned back..it was Lin Cze :D ... too bad i was already late...could've stopped to chat... i dunno what it is about bumping into old friends.. just makes me kinda happy... hehe...

Oh.. i almost forgot.. Happy Mooncake Festival everyone :) ...

A few weeks ago I was at my aunt's house and my cousins were there..and I just asked.. "When is mooncake festival this year ahh??" then cousin CC said "15th day of the 8th month lahh!" ... -.- ... of course we know in the lunar calendar that's the day lah... he was being sarcastic anyway.. haha.. so tonight we'll be having BBQ~~ despite finals being so close.. it seems we will forever be food and fun-loving people... XD ... or maybe it's just me... pif..

have a great mooncake festival everyone :D
