Today we had the award's ceremony at Taylor's and we had to dress in smart formal... so i got my nice shirt during the holidays..hehe... the vertical stripe pattern kind... which many many people were wearing today... but it's a little small coz there wasn't a bigger size...
So after getting the shirt went home to pair with trousers and skirt...turns out the skirt looks more "yao yeng" ... which was quite a surprise but mum agreed that the skirt looked better so..the skirt it was -.- ..

And when kahyee and yimin knew i was gonna wear a skirt they got so excited...pif...

kinda weird though... college people shouldn't know that i'm not the girly kind.. they should think i'm the neutral kind... but still...when i went to class... peiwen said something like "a side of you i never knew" -.-'''

But skirt aside... i wore heels.. not the first time in heels but the first time in those ... erm..not so thick bottomed heels? gah.. it was so hard to walk right... and silently.. and i think i have some blisters already XD ...

overall.. although i had shorts underneath the skirt.. it was still a very uncomfortable experience... haha... but kinda fun to see the shock on people's face XD ...

but i think i'll stick to my trousers and tees for now......

A Clean Room...

My room has been tidied...finally :D
It started with form 5... as usual it is my habit to pile my books on the table and not put them on the shelves... or even when i put stuff on the shelves they look messy on the shelves itself :P ...
So everytime Mum and Dad "notice" the mess (or rather care to mention and nag at me about it..coz the mess is VERY noticeable XD) they'll ask me to clean it up and i kept saying i'll do it after SPM...
Post-SPM holidays came and it was still messy..hehe... CNY came and it was STILL messy... and I hadn't expected my friends to come to my house at that time and they all saw the pigsty i call my room...
College started and the pile of junk GREW... with new books and all those papers...
And dad has been coming in very often and always says it reflects the person.. -.-''' ... guess he's trying to say junkyard=me....

So today i dunno why.. maybe coz i was already sweaty from driving (hehe... illegally of course..haven't even went for undang ><) ... i decided to clean up all the junk...

All the useless prospectus from edufairs.. recycling box... the useful prospectus..keep.. ALL books from secondary school..keep... (even the notebooks... :3 ) ... sort out storybooks... dictionaries... bags... tech stuff... and memories...

Vacuumed and Mopped...

Now I have a clean table...





How long do you think it'll take for me to mess it all up again? XD

Today..I'm happy..

because someone finally had the sense to create a concoction which I've always wanted to have!!!

Ice Blended Cappuccino!!

I went to starbucks once and i remembered the list was for hot & cold stuff...and cappuccino was on the list... i ordered an iced cappuccino...and they said sorry...it's only for hot -.-... lousy starbucks...i love coffee BUT i'm not a starbucks fan.. i only go there because they're there when i need a cuppa.. i won't sat they're horibble... it's tolerable but sometimes it doesn't give me maximum satisfaction...

I'm a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf fan :) ....always have been.... because coffee bean tends to be more "kau" ... (but there was a drink from coffee bean that i didn't really enjoy but i'm still a big fan )... and i tried ordering ice blended latte before (coz in the list of these erm...pricy coffees.. latte is my 2nd favourite) but coffee bean and starbucks only have it iced..not ice blended...so since cappuccino and latte ain't that much different... (main difference is the froth if i'm not wrong) it became my favourite drink be it coffee bean or starbucks...

Anyways..today mum, bro and me had dinner at TGIF... we're a day late coz it's Saturday today XD ... then bro wanted some coffee...though i pointed out to him that he's not a coffee guy..and his reason was it's too bitter.... -.- ... so i suggested he get a mocha and we went to coffee bean coz we were in subang parade... then before going in i saw the sign....

"Ice Blended Cappuccino"


I was very full and on the verge of exploding but i HAD to have it.... it was destiny~~~~ (or you can call it greed..but either way i'm happy...hehe)
and the plus point is it tastes good... the first sip tasted like haagen dasz coffee ice cream...

but i always wonder if i can really be called a coffee fan since i really like ice blended coffees instead of those hot coffees... hehe.. maybe i'll try the hot ones sometimes...

Justice served? not quite...

Warning: long post.....

I forgot if I've ever mentioned about a problem with the library in my blog before... so I shall write a summary of events...

-The Tuesday or Wednesday (i can't really remember) before CNY holidays I returned a book via book drop.. coz that book was absolutely horrible!! in case ur wondering why i even borrowed it.. well..i was in a rush and didn't check to see that the book had lotsa missing pages...
-Few days or a day after returning... it should be a thursday.. i was with Yimin at the library opening the page to my library account and was surprised to see the book had not been cleared... decided to report to librarian lady...
-Kept checking throughout holidays to see if it had been cleared.. it was still there....
-College started... I got panicky... decided to gently remind the librarian... ended up having to tell the whole story again to 2nd librarian lady and having them ask me questions which i have answered the 1st librarian lady.. asked me to check the shelves...check the drop-in log book... and the funny thing was the book wasn't there.. even the serial number wasn't in the log book....was asked to see another librarian lady.
-saw 3rd librarian lady. had to explain all over again about the problem. had to remember dates again... she checked the log book (as if i hadn't done it...) and told me to check the shelves... something about she will get the student helpers to look for it...
-student helpers or anybody at all couldn't find the book...
-case K.I.V. ... and perhaps you could say i'm sensitive but when people make a statement like "we cannot find the book you claimed to have returned. if you returned it it should be in the log book but the problem is it is not there" i feel like an accusation is being flung at me.. it's like calling me a liar... but we let it go and temporarily if i wanted to borrow anything i had to see this higher-power librarian lady... (but i didn't borrow anything coz it was too much trouble)

fast forward a few months...

- a letter arrives saying i had been given 3 warnings and i hadn't returned the book... i did tell my mum about this when it happened but when she saw the letter she kinda got pissed... and dad found out and he also got pissed... mum called up the library and was passed to the said higher-power librarian lady (a.k.a 3rd librarian lady) ... and she gave a semi-dramatic speech.. though not dramatic enough..haha... she said something like "my daughter trusted the system and now look what happened. she is very disappointed. can you tell me, who actually checks all these books that come in?" and librarian lady couldn't answer and just told mum to tell me to see her... if it was my kid in that situation maybe i'd say something like "my daughter is an innocent, naive student. how can you accuse her of such a thing? she just wanted to return a book and look what happened. clearly you people aren't doing your job right. *insert more dramatic stuff*"
-anyways i went to see her... and had to repeat the case ALL over again... i was pretty pissed about this procedure coz it's a waste of paper..waste of my time...waste of my saliva... and after a whole lotta talking we ended up at square one .. no book found, case KIV. and the lady thought mum called for a different reason... not to get justice but she thought it's coz i cant borrow anything... ughh...

fast forward to today.....
we have a moral assignment to do and i had to get info on abortion... so i went to the library and got a few books... and typed what i could in case i couldn't borrow anything... yimin came to the library looking for me coz i decided to meet her for lunch.. then i went in to look for 3rd librarian lady to borrow the books coz she was the only who could get the people to let me borrow books... when we stepped out the office door to the library area she told me "your case was KIV right? ok.. i found the book already and i checked it in. so your case is cleared. i wanted to inform you earlier but i thought i would see you when you need to borrow books so i can tell you." and she told me it was probably a student helper's mistake that the book was supposed to be in the main collection but they put it in the reserved collection -.- ..gee..so much for saying you've looked EVERYWHERE and couldn't find it.. so i was overjoyed at the moment that i was proven innocent and i gladly took the books and went out with Yimin...

I didn't eat with Yimin. I watched her eat coz dad was picking me, bro and mum for dim sum ^^

In the car i told dad that i'm Freeeeeee~~~!! then he saw the books and he guessed it was abt the library... but he was not satisfied.. he told me to sue them -.- ... and when i said the librarian said something like ur cleared he was even more furious..haha.. he said "they think you're a criminal or what huh? cleared ahh..don't let them bully you..etc etc " ... after picking bro and mum i shared the story with mum.. then she also told me to question the lady more... and she said something like "ask them to pay ahh!! send letter ask you to pay somemore that time... you write in lah... we still got the letter right?? i asked her that time who check all these books..etc etc" ... And a few things dawned on me

1. My parents are right. I should have been braver and questioned her.... and stuff like these should have come to mind right there and then...
2. Librarian lady didn't even say "sorry" for all the accusations...the trouble that they have caused me...
3. This still does not explain why the serial number was not on the log book.... (it can be explained if you make a few assumptions but i'd rather hear it from the librarian lady's mouth what exactly happened...)

so at one point i was happy that they know i never lied to them... but then after all these have been pointed out... i guess... justice wasn't served AT ALL... i was at the receiving end of accusations and i was tolerant with them.... i didn't fuss much (despite my parents' encouragement to go and create havoc XD )... and all along it was their mistake... maybe i really should be a lawyer ... XD ...

Greed...?

Growing up... i've been called greedy quite a number of times... and i do agree with that fact... I am a greedy pig... but i thought my greed was only restricted to food....
As a kid..(and even now) I love eating!! but the love was more..erm...how shall i say... more lustful when i was younger XD ... i'd open the can of chips dad bought and hide in the corner eating and when he walked into the dining area i would usually hide.. or i'd take chocolates meant for my brother after i'd eaten my share... hehe... thankfully i have more self control now...phew..

and now.... my greed has reached a different place... it's not about food anymore most of the time.. it's about education..

most people by now have an aim... something they know they definitely wanna do... me? i know what i want...but i want too much.... -.- ... it would be easy to pick one of the many interests i have and say "go for it" but... that's when the greediness comes in... like i'm afraid i'm missing out on something else... and it's like i want it all....

the way mum and dad put it...in their time it was much easier.. they ALL did form 6 (IF they still wanted to study after form 5)... and after that decided if they would work or continue their education... and girls would usually become nurses or teachers... guys became engineers...
mum said we have too many choices... too many options... too many courses to choose from..too many places we can consider for higher education (another headache) ...

I know eventually i'll have to sort this out... by myself (coz dad ain't gonna help me one bit -.- ...mum's more helpful...bro can't help me coz he doesn't have this procedure to go through..)...and i think i have to do it fast.... *sigh* ... we're supposed to fill out a student information form so that the lecturers can write our testimonials.... and we gotta hand the form in with a personal statement by 20th April >< ..
wonder if all colleges are so "kan cheong" or it's just taylors....

Wednesday was my 2nd and last day volunteering... Much better than Monday... more people... so I didn't feel like I wasn't doing my job.... Lotsa interesting people... some old auntys... old uncles... young people... and weeeiiird people... here's an example..
There was a... hmm.. an elderly indian man...but not too old... and he started asking the exhibition care taker person about the whale... so she didn't know how to handle him and had a helpless look on her face so i went over to see what i could do (coz she's just in charge of making sure nobody destroys the exhibit).. he started asking.. "Is this like a fish ah? people catch and eat ahh?" then i explained.. it's a mammal... not a fish.. before finishing the explanation he asked again "so can eat ah? do people catch it and eat? It's so big.. like those big fish can eat wan ah?? " then i really... didn't really know how to answer actually...i remembered the fact sheet said something abt being hunted for blubber but not as food... so i told him mainly for blubber... never heard of people eating... and he continued with another string of weird questions...and before he left he like "ok... now i go to the maxis there... i want to ask them how to use this sms bonus lah... i got 1200 i dunno how to use... ok.. now 3.30... later 4.30 i come back... " after he left both of us felt so ... -.-''' ...
Another interesting one was an elderly aunty who spoke to me in cantonese... she asked... "this wan 32-inch ah?" then i was blur... coz the whale is 25 feet.... so i told her 25 and pointed to the board with the diagram and dimension written... then she said "ohh.. 25 only ahh.. no 32?? " then i realised... she talking abt the TV?? so i asked her and yea... she thought we were selling TV's... another -.-''' moment... total people who thought we're selling TV's was 3....

Overall it was a nice experience... some people were really interested in the whale... but most of them just took pictures of it...

Anyways... i saw something cuuute happen today :3 .... i was cycling and from a distance i saw 2 sheets of brownish-white paper get blown by the wind onto the middle of the road... i thought it was cats at first but one of the papers was flapping constantly so i thought..cats can't be so... repetitive.. then as i went nearer it was 2 cats in the middle of the road!!! they belong to someone in the neighbourhood ... then i made sure i didn't roll over them... then i started to replay the thing... it's like the cats roooooolllled from the side to the middle and just "piak" on the middle of the road... imagine it... so cute...... i used to not like cats but i tink cats are really cute now :3 .. ok...maybe not ALL cats... but i don't think ALL dogs are cute either so... cats and dogs have equal ranking now :D ... you readers must think i've gone nuts XD ...

Monday....

My first day volunteering with the MNS-Nat Geo whale thingy.. was told only one group was coming in so we could go back early :)
But the lousy thing was we were supposed to be given fact sheets and a T-shirt... and we got none of those.. so thank goodness i was at mom's office earlier and she printed out some stuff for me ...phew.. and without the shirt or a tag or ANY form of distinguishing us from normal people..nobody approached us...

So that day a bunch of kindy kids came... so adooorable.... but i don't think they care much abt the whale... and i didn't have to talk at all... coz there's this ang mo lady from UM... and she basically did most of the talking... and we didn't have to spend 30minutes with them... it was all wrapped up in about... 15minutes...? then the kiddies went to do some colouring... and we were pretty much free to go after that...

Had lunch with mum which was... one of the best lunches i've ever had..( and one of the most expensive ><) ... we had it at Sage... i cleared the plate happily...hehe... it was too beautiful to leave any behind :') ...they'll change the menu every week for now coz business is still a bit slow at the moment... but i must warn you.... if you wanna go there to makan for lunch... make sure you have rm100 on hand ...

Qing Ming...

One of the festivals I look forward to every year...
My interpretation of it is a time where the family gets together... works together to clean up ah ta..ah ne.. and ah pak's resting place... but it's not all work and no fun...we somehow manage to laugh a lot at the cemetery...cracking jokes..laughing about old times... remembering old times... it's always kinda fun...

Today wasn't exactly the same... cousin CK wasn't feeling so well so he didn't come along..
AND... today while we were plucking the wild grass off the...erm... rockbed?? i forgot if it was aunt or cousin who found a bone o.O ... then we concluded that it was a tooth.... then suddenly on a bed of grass there was a SET of teeth...haha.... freaky yet funny... we had to think if it was real teeth or dentures -.-...

but some traditions remain... like buying ice cream for ah pak... he gets 2 sticks :) ..

and qing ming is also..kinda personal.. coz it's the only time of the year i pay a dear friend a visit..it's been 3 years... i miss her lots... but sometimes we get too busy to really think about our lost loved ones everyday... i do think of her often ..but it's the only day of the year i get to leave flowers there... hope she likes it...

Holiday time!!!
Got home... dad was home... "wanna go kopitiam?" ... sure... went kopitiam..had iced milo :)
Visit Rachel... she was gonna get her nap :( ... had bread made by aunt... yummy...
Home.. bought "To Kill a Mockingbird" yesterday to re-read... coz the last time i read it was my aunt's copy... and i dunno why... but i was so tired... decided to nap till 6pm... it was 5.10...


I woke up at dinner time which was 8?? >< ....


haih... but holidays aren't really gonna be 100% fun and relaxation... coz our dear lecturers know how to make sure our holidays are well-occupied...

on the week we get back to school...we're gonna have tests...and lecturer's gonna want our tutorials and assignments.. got a bunch of research to do... sadly... it really sucks... haih...

But!! this holiday is gonna be slightly different from the usual .. volunteered for something going on at Midvalley...something about whales... i'll be there monday and thursday :) ... fingers crossed that it'll turn out ok... coz besides Rachel... i never really tried getting along with kids..let alone manage them ... other than that... i'll have to discipline myself to get things done...haih...

Since Yimin's timetable has been changed ..got no choice but to lunch with classmates today... so I went with Ee Leng, Yu Li and Wun Yeun...had lunch at Cafe Cabana... then walked back to college...
Then as we were going there we saw the LG/Baskin Robbins truck...and Wun Yeun was all happy and high..haha... she kinda looked like she wanted to chase the truck... then it turned into college o.O ... not long after we saw the hitz.fm car...and then came the my fm car....
And it sturck me that... I have violin on Thursdays T.T .... so I didn't get to go to the ECA day after all... pif...
After class .. walked to Ms Elizabeth's place... was a scorching sunny day.... BUT... not long after I went there it started to rain... muahahaha... in your face better-than-ours ECA day!! .... coz it's really not fair that they get all the nice..cool events... and when I complained to bro while he was half playing the piano..half listening to me... he was all...dramatic.. and he said "diam lah... u tink our ECA day how har? u in that campus should be happy enough lah!!!" -.-''' .... i never knew he hated his campus THAT much.... haha... but he never goes for any of the activities anyways so...

On another note...lotsa people have been going for the JPA interview and Sher Wen came back from her interview today all dressed up... so womanly... and i heard her saying that the last question the interviewer asked was "if you go overseas to study and you meet a guy from that country..and you fall deeply in love with him and he asks you to marry him...what will you do? " -.-''' ... hmm... that kinda question... so weird... must be some kinda trick ...
